So I decided to try wax instead of the gel I was using. I don't like it too much. The only thing I like is that it holds better and my hair didn't un twist as I did it, other than that my hair feels really greasy and the ends are really stringy like. Here are some pics of my hair after I washed it and used the wax:

It's Been Awhile
So I feel like my hair is at a stand still. I was so excited at first because it was moving a lot faster then I originally thought, but now it seems like nothing is going on, especially my ends. I'm considering cutting them a little. The back is doing absolutely nothing, it doesn't even stay twisted, ugh! I'm sticking with it though, no turning back!
Not sure where I took this from, lol, but it's one of the good ones! ;)

I kind of suck at this!
Not really sure how often I should update, it's been three weeks. I've had some ups and downs. Last week I wanted to straighten my hair, only because I saw some flat irons. I also saw some pics of my hair that I loved and thought about turning back. I'm sticking with it though, and on the bright side my hair is starting to loc......YAAAYYYY! It's really strange, it's locing not exactly at the root but a little ways down and it's not that much maybe a 1/2 in to an inch. I now have new concern, now I know everyone's hair is different, but everyone I ask has atleast 100 locs and I don't even have 80. I don't want them to be really small, but I don't want to them huge. I wanted a nice medium sized loc, only downfall of starting them myself. Needless to say I am happy with the decision I've made and guess that I will have to wait to see the outcome, it's moving along a lot faster then I originally thought it would. I haven't washed it since the last time, I think I may have to start washing it a little bit more cause my hair flakes and I'm finding that were it is locing has flakes in them. I think I'm going to wash it tonight and see if it clears, hopefully. After I wash it I'll take some pics and update.

My so called hairsytles
Some Pics and My first wash
I forgot to say I single twisted my hair with a locking gel and regular clear locking gel, I coiled the hair around my finger and then sat underneath the dryer.
I have to get better at taking pics, but I'll share the ones I have.
I originally wanted to wash my hair at six weeks, but I got anxious and bored so I went ahead and did it. I figured a week wouldn't of made much of a difference. I originally thought when I washed it that my hair was going to come all the way out and I was going to have to start from scratch, but it held up pretty well.

First Blog
Ok, so I'm attempting this blog thing. 1) because I want to chronicle and share my loc journey and 2)I'm stuck in the house because of the snow with nothing else to do.
For about two years now I wanted to loc my hair, but apparently wasn't ready. About a month and a half ago I decided that it was time. While some may think the have "good" hair and that it's so wonderful, I feel it's a pain ass. I love the way locs look (well maintained ones) and want to give it a try. One of my main inspirations is my cousin Leah, her hair is beautiful!
